Stuff I Love: The Honest Company

Having three kids in three years means I've changed a lot of diapers. I've tried generic diapers, Pampers, Huggies, natural, synthetic, and even had a brief stint with cloth (which I loved, but just couldn't keep up with on all 3).  I've run to the store at midnight to pick up a package of diapers.  I've used paper towels to wipe bottoms when we ran out of wipes.  I've grown entirely bored with traditional Sesame Street and Disney characters emblazoned on my babies' tushies. I've scheduled entire mornings around making it to Target (the only store in town that sells Huggies Naturals in a size 3).  But no more.

Enter The Honest Company.  Founded by Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan, this company is dedicated to providing family essentials at an affordable rate.  The company is very transparent in their goals and their materials.  And the Honest Company gives back!  Plus, there are SO many reasons to love these diapers.  Here are a few:

1) The diapers are natural.
They are healthy for baby and as healthy as possible for the environment.  They are made from renewable/recyclable materials.  They are largely naturally sourced.  They are manufactured with sustainability in mind. They aren't 100% plant based yet, but it's a goal they are moving toward.

2) The diapers are comfortable.
So many 'natural'  diaper brands we'd tried chafed and left sores on my babies as they ran and crawled around.  These diapers haven't made a mark and my kids seem so comfy in them.  They aren't any bulkier than a regular disposable - in fact they are made long and lean so they are nice and slim, even when wet.  Baby doesn't waddle in this diaper.

3) They come in fun designs.
Everything from ice-cream cones, to flowers, plaid to skull-and-crossbones - and of course, plain old white.  And you have the option to choose!   Want pink and girly this month?  Done!  Want something blue next month?  Great!  Need all white for those summer dresses?  You got it!  You can update your 'nursery' any time between shipments to get just the right size and design.

4) They ship right to your door.
A whole month's supply of diapers and wipes shows up on your doorstep all at once.  No more running to the store to pick up a package in the middle of the night.  Need more diapers than they typically ship?  Don't use quite as many as they send?  Give them a call, they're willing to work with you to make your order just right.
And they don't just offer diapers.  Along with a diaper bundle, they also offer a Home Essentials bundle which you can customize with eco-friendly baby shampoos, lotions, soaps, body washes, laundry detergent and more.

Best of all, you can get a free trial of one or both bundles (just pay shipping).  The service is so affordable!  You can find a price and material comparison here.  Give them a try and see if you aren't convinced - The Honest Company really is a diapering parent's dream come true.

  5. This is great! I am always looking for sustainable diapers since cloth-diapering did not work out so well for my daughter (she leaked right through each and every one we tried and I just gave up!). My Lily is potty-training now, but I will check this brand out for sure. Thanks for sharing! I am a new follower from Naptime Review's hop!

  6. I'm glad I'm not the only one completely bored with Elmo and Mickey on my baby's tushie! I find myself trying to cover up those cartoons most days. And since cloth diapering wasn't an option for me, I would love to try a sustainable diaper-that doesn't feel like cardboard!!

  7. Thanks for sharing, I'm definitely keeping this in mind for my second. I used Huggies naturals with my daughter whenever I could find them, but looking for something different for when our second baby gets here... Been seriously considering cloth but I'm keeping this in mind for a back up!

  8. I was just having a diaper dilemma today. We used the Nature Babycare diapers from Amazon, which I love...but we ran out so we grabbed a box of Huggies at Costco. Not. a. fan. Thanks for this recommendation!
