Stuff I Love: Anytime Costumes

Last Christmas I decided that the best gifts I could give my kids were tools to promote their imaginative play.  I filled their lists with things like play kitchens and large wooden blocks, and I personally took on the task of making them a costume box.  I wanted them to spend hours pretending to be all kinds of people and occupations.  I wanted them to explore and learn through physical transformation - not just through watching "educational" tv.

Little did I know how difficult it would be to assemble a box full of high-quality costumes without breaking the bank.  I shopped post-Halloween sales for a few items (most toddler sizes were sold out), but many of the remaining costumes are still waiting on the list.

This is why I was thrilled when Mom Blog Society offered me the chance to review Anytime Costumes.  This site is filled with costumes of all types in a wide variety of sizes (infant, child and adult).  The costumes range from occupational to fantasy, from historical to popular cartoons.   There are many choices for $20 or less (though prices can reach $50+ for adult and/or deluxe costumes) which makes them very affordable.

The costumes looked high quality on the website, but I was afraid they might be too good to be true.  Many a time I've been duped by great looking pictures then been highly disappointed when the products actually arrived.  Not so in this case.  I was actually shocked at what sturdy material the costume was made from.  Here's a peek at my 4 year old all dressed up like Rafael the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Daddy has been teaching him how cool the TMNT are, and he was so excited to wear the suit.  He asks almost daily if he can wear the costume for Halloween - even though he already has a box full of other costumes - this one is definitely his favorite.

The costume came with a full suit, a mask and a shell - and while he needs a little assistance to get into it, it's fairly simple in its design.  It is also very high quality and is sure to be something that gets passed down to little brother.

Anytime Costumes is currently having a sale on all its costumes $25+ and they've even got in items for St. Patty's day and Easter!  If you're looking for a suit for a specific event, or if you want to get a head start on stocking up for Halloween (or even Christmas), then this is definitely a site you'll want to check.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
