Stuff I Love: Sportline Resistance Band

I'm the very first to admit that when it comes to working out, I'm a total slug.  Sure, I'll hop on the elliptical while I watch an episode of Heroes now and then, but when it comes to strength training, well, I just don't wanna.  It's hard work and I often find that the moves I find in magazines are hard on my back.  I have scoliosis and sometimes regular push-ups or even tricep dips will throw out my neck and leave me in pain.  So I don't do them.  And forget running to the gym.  By the time we eat dinner and get the kids in bed, I'm falling in bed tired (and we just can't afford to put 3 kids in the kid-zone).

Home gyms are too expensive, but my muscles are like jello, so I knew I had to do something.  Well, Mom Blog Society came to the rescue again by giving me the opportunity to review the Sportline Fitness Men's Health Quick Adjust Resistance Band.  Let me tell you - I am out of excuses now!!

I was a little skeptical at first - I've tried resistance bands before, but they were awkward to use and broke easily, and I was never quite sure exactly what moves to do.  This kit takes care of all those problems.  First of all, this resistance band is adjustable.  With a couple of clicks on the comfy handle, you can lengthen or shorten the band to make it the perfect size for each move you are performing.  The band is sturdily constructed, and while no band will last forever, it's designed to go the distance.  And, as you can see below, the kit includes a large glossy poster demonstrating a range of movements, as well as a workout dvd.

As a total beginner I was able to perform most of the movements - and they clearly worked because I was incredibly sore the next day.  I've finally found a workout that targets my triceps without throwing out my neck, which is a huge blessing!  And best of all, this kit is super portable, so you can take it with you on the road wherever you go and you don't have to worry about finding a gym or missing your workouts.

I know the package says "Men's Health," and my husband will attest that it works wonderfully for men, but it's just as easy for a small woman to use (I'm only 5'1").

So, are you as full of excuses for not working out as I was?  Do you travel a lot and need a portable fitness kit?  Would you like to give this resistance band a try?  Sportline Fitness has generously offered to provide another band for one of my readers - just fill out the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win.  Good luck and happy working out!

  2. I like to run. It can get boring, but it's the easiest and cheapest way to get in cardio!
